Drawing of interior of present church. Shenute's basilican church ended in a trefoil arrangment of three apses (see Grossmann's plan, "Dayr Anba Shenuda"). Here we see the eastern and northern apses. Columns and niches are original. The screen and stand for liturgical books came later. For views of the interior today, see Christ in the Apse, and more details.
